Escrow Implements Strict Know Your Customer Identification Policy: Newsletter April 7, 2017

ImageEscrow.com recently announced big changes to the way it will do business in the future. The U.S. government has passed legislation to further prevent money laundering and the funding of terrorism, which means our friends at Escrow.com have now implemented strict Know Your Customer (KYC) Policies to ensure identification for companies and individuals looking to do deals. This is a huge win for safe, secure and successful deal making in the industry and we at FE International think this is a big move in the right direction. If you want to learn more about what this policy entails and what you need to do, refer to our Escrow KYC blog post.

In other industry news, check out the article below on how to switch entire Google Analytics accounts between users. Historically, this was not possible, which caused the loss of traffic data during a business handover. For anyone participating in online acquisitions, transfers have become a lot more easier.

One of our favorite events, MicroConf, kicks off this weekend and founder Thomas Smale and COO Olga Lidenko are in Vegas from now until Tuesday. If you are attending the popular SaaS event, then make sure to let us know. If you are not attending, but would like to attend our happy hour Monday April 10th, sign up here. The last happy hour we hosted had over 50 attendees, so it’s well worth stopping by. After MicroConf, Thomas will head to Brighton to speak at the LTVConf on the 19th and then to Atlanta to speak at a private digital investor event. Let us know if you want to meet with him at any of those events.

Did you know that as a Google Analytics users, you are able to move properties between accounts? Transferring properties means that the tracking code will remain the same and you won’t have to make any changes to the website. All historical data will be moved and not copied over. Settings and configurations for Remarketing Audiences and Dynamic Attributes, Custom Definitions, Data Import, and Custom Tables will also be moved and not copied. Dashboards, custom reports, annotations, segments and goals will be transferred over. Any linked accounts and integrations such as AdWords, AdSense, Ad Exchange and etc., that are part of your account will also be transferred over. Filters will be copied and not moved.

There are a few requirements to transfer your Google Analytics property: permission to manage users and edit, have less than 50 properties in the account destination, property that is being moved should not be linked to DoubleClick for Publishers (DFP).

Amazon Joins the Social Media Influencer Game

Amazon has launched what they are called the “Amazon Influencer Program” to form strategic relationships with social media influencers. The program is currently in beta testing as it has been rolled out discreetly. It will offer influencers commission on products that they help sell. It will only include selected candidates that Amazon deems as influential, so more exclusive than being an Amazon Affiliate, where it is open to the public.

Who does Amazon consider an Amazon Influencer? Fan engagement, following, quality of content and level of relevancy are all measured across multiple social platforms. Once influencers are chosen, they will be given a unique URL where customers can see a curated selection of products recommended by the influencer.

Amazon and brands will not be working with influencers to select products, vet them or provide them for free. The products that the influencers choose are completely up to the influencer. Outside of the program, influencers are free to form relationships with brands, but must not be involved with the Amazon Influencer Program.

If you want to learn more about this program read here (requires login).
